Experienced and Career Temporary Workers

As an experienced temporary worker you are already likely to know how being a reliable and trustworthy worker will help us to keep you in work. However all agencies work slightly differently so it is probably a good idea to understand any differences there might be when working through Peter Knight Recruitment Ltd.

It is essential to keep in contact with your assigned Consultant and be sure to notify us of any changes in your circumstances. Please provide us with as much notice as possible if you have a problem attending your assignment. This will allow us maximum opportunity to inform the client or make alternative arrangements if you are unable to attend for any reason.

Please be sure to read carefully your terms of engagement which clarify all the necessary terms and conditions to work as a temporary worker. You do have clear obligations on your arrival for the first time on a new client site. These are related to health and safety, fire procedures and on site operating procedures. You must acquaint yourself with these as a first priority and ask questions to your Supervisor if you are unsure.

It is usual for all temporary workers to work from Monday to Sunday of each week. Standard hours will usually be in the order 35, 37.5 or 40 hours per week depending on each client. Any hours worked over the standard week are usually paid at a premium however this will depend on the client company where you are working.  Some companies offer flat rate, others at time and a half and on Sundays at double time, but please be sure to acquaint yourself with the rules of the client company right at the very start of your assignment.
